Bad Mother's Club (the Site) is for the Real Mum by the Real Mum, we'd looooove your contributions in the form of Articles, Recipes, Tips for Housekeeping and Parenting etc.
Let's face it, we need all the help we can get!
Please read the following information carefully and we suggest that you familiarise yourself with the rest of the Site before submitting anything. We don't want any tanties because you haven't done what we've asked.
Submitting Articles
Articles are about the reality of parenting, and not about "expert opinions" on what you should and shouldn't be doing.
We're interested in Articles and other content that relate to all aspects of parenting, and cover the many age ranges and abilities of our readers and their children. If it relates to parenting is any way, shape or form, then we'll probably like it. Could be discipline, or childcare, or travelling, or ages and stages ... whatever. We do ask, though, that articles are entertaining, humorous and fit in well with the rest of the site.
We don't mind a bit of controversy, a bit of a larf, or naughty words. We especially like stuff that questions the experts and is a little bit cheeky. If we like it, then we'll publish it!
Submitting "Expert"/Serious Articles
This is the bit of
Bad Mother's Club that provides information and resources for our membership area We don't mind experts contributing here. It may be serious, or it may contain a little bit of humour and fun, but so long as it is informative, factual and helps to support, aid and/or empower our readers, then all is well.
Again, we prefer it to be related to parenting, relationships and all things Mumly and womanly.
If you are providing us with an expert-based piece, please ensure that it focusses on what your particular method/theory does, and not what others do or don't do (ie breastfeeding does this but bottle feeding doesn't do this - the breastfeeding bit is perfect, the bottlefeeding bit isn't. And vice versa).
We pride ourselves on being non-judgemental and providing our readers with the information so they may choose methods that work for them and their families.
Recipes
We Like Food! So recipes of any sort are great.
However, for
Bad Mother's Club we like recipes to be simple, easy to make, and the ingredients easy to get - i.e. with the Real Mum in mind.
We will credit you with the recipe, so please remember to include your name - real or assumed, whichever you prefer - with your recipe. Photos of your creation are also welcome. We prefer them in a jpeg (.jpg) format. And not too big.
Tips - Parenting, Household, DIY, Other
Same deal as above - keep it Real and keep the Real Mum in mind when submitting your Tip. We also don't want "shoulds" here either, nor do want things that are too complicated or involves ironing. Anything that contains Vodka is good.
Submission Guidelines
We like articles that are between 500 and 1500 words long.
We are, however, not interested in articles that "tell" Mums how to parent, or offer "expert" advice.
We really hate the word "should"; it sets off our twitches.
We're also not interested in content that is blatant advertising for your business; will we not publish any submitted articles about individuals, particular events, products, services, businesses or book/movie/game reviews.
Please do not represent yourself as being affiliated or working with or for Real Mums Pty Ltd, Bad Mother's Cub or
realmums.com.au
Please remember to include your name (real or assumed) and other information you'd like published with the article (including business name and link to your website if relevant); up to 50 words.
Please advise
clearly if you wish to remain anonymous.
We do not offer payment for articles, however, we do offer lots of warm fuzzies for your contribution and support. We really do appreciate it.
Once your article is received, we will review it and determine whether it is suitable for the Site.
Accepted articles will be published on the Site in the section we deem most suitable.
Articles may be published in part or referred to in our monthly e-Newsletter, Reality Parenting (or it may not).
All articles submitted must be original, or credited to the original author. Please do not claim credit for articles or content that is not your own work.
Our decision regarding the publishing of your article on this Site is final, and no discussion will be entered into.
We reserve the right to monitor, accept or reject any content submitted to us, and may edit, reject or remove any content as necessary, without notification.
We reserve the right to change, edit, delete or reword content, at our discretion, to meet our general specifications. Should major edits be required, will show you the version prior to publication.
We also reserve the right to publish content at a time suitable and appropriate to us. Or not.
Articles submitted for Realsources may first be published in our Members only section at our discretion.
Please advise us (or include the information below your bio box) if you are happy for others to use your article on other sites and any conditions associated with its use.
Remember, we're about supporting Australian parents, and not constantly telling them what they're doing wrong! We look forward to receiving your contribution.
